I am both honoured and delighted to be chosen to represent Eastwood for the County Council election on behalf of the Broxtowe Lib Dems.
I will continue with my 25 plus years of community service, twelve of which have been on Eastwood Town Council (and as Mayor in 2008/09) and four on Broxtowe Borough Council representing Eastwood 2015 - 2019. I am committed to Eastwood having lived here for 35 years. I take pride in my role as a Trustee at Age Concern Eastwood (almost 20 years); I am currently the Chair of Eastwood NHW and have served as a Trustee on the Eastwood Volunteer Bureau. I was a school governor at Eastwood Comp until 2015. During my 25 plus years I’ve raised in excess of £250k for local causes; organised successful events in Eastwood and Brinsley and believe I’ve proved I care about Eastwood.
I believe in localism – it’s carved into the first page of our party’s constitution, because we know positive change made on a street-by-street, person-by-person basis does more good than sweeping gestures from the top down. Every Lib Dem candidate’s top priority is to fix the issues that are important to local residents.
