Welcome to the Broxtowe Liberal Democrats. We are an active local party, working hard on behalf of all Broxtowe residents. As part of the Liberal Democrats, we are proud of our commitment to fight against the damaging local and national effects of Brexit.
Broxtowe is a semi-rural borough in the south-west corner of Nottinghamshire, immediately west of Nottingham and not far from Derby. The main towns in Broxtowe are Beeston, Stapleford, Kimberley and Eastwood. Trowell Service Station on the M1 is in the centre of the borough, and the nearby Toton sidings are the preferred site of the East Midlands Hub of Phase 2 of the HS2 rail line.
We have several ways to keep in touch with residents throughout the year: we regularly deliver Focus leaflets and send weekly e-news updates. Of course, you can also stay updated by regularly checking this website.
Five of our members were elected to Broxtowe Borough Council on May 2 2019: Steve & Barbara Carr (Beeston North) and David Watts, Ian Tyler and Hannah Land (Bramcote). Following the Stapleford South East by-election, the number of Liberal Democrat councilors increased to seven - Liberal Democrats Tim Hallam and David Grindell were both elected. Control of the council is in the hands of a Labour-led coalition including 3 Independents and ourselves.
Steve Carr is also an elected member of the Conservative-led Nottinghamshire County Council. We contest almost every seat in local and parliamentary elections.
